February Newsletter - Coaches, Comp Results and Champions Challenge *Weybridge Edition*

Hello Hellcats!!  February is already done and Spring will be here before we know it! We have had a great month with Hellcats, kicking things off with our first competition of this season - BCA Fundamentals Crawley. We were so proud of all of our teams that performed and could not be happier with the results. Scarlet did an excellent job with her lyrical solo and took home 2nd place. Lions were fantastic in the Junior L1 Stunt Group division and earned 2nd place. Mountain Lions had a great run and even hit zero in the Junior Level 2 stunt group division and got a well-deserved 3rd place. Cubs were fabulous in their debut and we are so proud of how they handled themselves in the Youth Prep Level 1 division. They got some great comments and achieved 5th place. Panthers were in the Junior Level 1 division and did so incredibly well. They achieved 4th place and were less than a point away from 3rd! Leopards closed the show and took home a first place trophy in the Senior Prep 2.1 division and were also awarded a paid bid to compete at BCA Champions Challenge in Sheffield on the 11/12th July! Congratulations girls! All the teams got great feedback from the judges and have been working super hard in the gym ever since to make changes and corrections and upgrades. We can hardly wait for our next competition in May! February also saw the launch of our new Hellcats Cheerleaders App! The app is now available for free download on Apple and Android app stores. Over the next few weeks we will be transitioning to using the app as our main source of communication with parents and athletes so we would like to encourage all Hellcats and their parents to download the app to avoid missing out on important information. The app will also provide access to coaching resources such as team music, videos and count sheets for members to enable our cheerleaders to continue practicing at home. There is also a calendar pre-marked with key dates for your athlete, access to our pro-shop, opportunities to book onto our extra tumble camps, latest news and a message centre for parents to communicate with coaches etc.  We would also like to introduce two new members of our coaching team! You may have noticed a couple of unfamiliar faces floating around at training and competition. Jo Forest-Jones and Charlotte Gregory have joined the Hellcats Pride this term and we are so happy to welcome them to the family! You can find out more about them on the Coaches page of our website! We would also like to take this opportunity to remind you that tickets for our biggest competition of the season are now on sale. We are attending FC Internationals on 3-5th July. Tigers, Jungle Cats, Lynx and Ocelots are competing at School's Out in Bournemouth on Friday 3rd July. Your cheerleader has been given a letter to bring home for you to sign and return giving your permission for them to attend the competition and also to order any spectator tickets you may want to watch this competition. School's Out tickets cannot be purchased via our website. Panthers, Leopards and Jaguars are competing at Internationals on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th July. Panthers will be competing in Session 3 on Saturday, Jaguars will be competing in Session 1 on Sunday and Leopards will be in Session 3 on Sunday. Spectator tickets are available via our online store. Please be aware that this is a hugely popular competition and always sells out. In order to try and guarantee tickets, we have set a deadline of 31st March 2020. Any tickets purchased after this date cannot be guaranteed. See you at training! Rachel, Laura, Kat, Charlie & Tiff x

We would like to give a HUGE shoutout to our Senior 2.1 team, Leopards for earning a PAID BID to BCA's Champions Challenge! This is a huge opportunity for Leopards to go head to head against all the other Senior 2.1 division champions from this season! Leopards will be competing on 11th July at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield.  This is the first paid bid Hellcats have earned and we are SO EXCITED to see them take on this challenge.  As this is a paid bid, there will be no competition entry fees to pay (yay!) but due to the location, we are planning on putting on a coach to travel there and back. We will let you know the cost of this asap. Well done Leopards, we are SO proud of you!
