November Newsletter - Comps, Christmas and Captains!

Updated: Jan 28, 2019

Hello Hellcats!

How is it the end of November already? It has been a great month for all of our Hellcats teams and we have loved seeing so many of you achieving new skills in tumbling and stunting - well done!

Cheetahs have been starting to piece together all the skills they have learned so far into their first routine! They will be performing for the first time in March at a Variety Show in Bosham and we are very excited to watch this routine develop in preparation for that. Keep working hard girls!

Tigers have been doing so well in their stunt groups and working together as a team. We are so impressed at how quickly their stunts are developing and we are loving their confidence as a team. We can't wait to start working on their competition routine from January, we have a feeling it's going to be a great season for them!

Panthers are working so hard on their competition routine ahead of February's debut at ICC Southerns! We love nothing more than seeing them come into the gym ready to work and eager to learn new skills. For many of them, this is their first experience of competitive all-star cheerleading and we could not be prouder of how they are taking it all in their stride. Their routine is looking fantastic so far and we can't wait to see it hit the floor in February.

Leopards routine is well underway and is looking awesome. This is our first time competing in the 2.1 division and we are so excited. This team looks great and they are working so hard in training. We can't wait to see them take the floor at ICC Southerns in February. Leopards tumble skills are also improving every week and we are so proud to see so many of them aiming for their handsprings, keep working hard girls!

Our stunt groups, Lynx, Lions and Jaguars also deserve a shout out this month for their hard work and dedication. They are always eager to try new things and we are so impressed with how the routines are looking. We can't wait to see them on the competition floor!

Here at Hellcats HQ, we are also VERY excited to announce two new classes starting next month in Weybridge. Starting Thursday 13th December, we will be launching a FREE tumble class from 3-4pm on Thursdays. This class is available to ALL existing Hellcats who would like to have some extra tumble practice time to work on those new skills. No need to book, just show up and get to work with our coaching team.

We will also be launching a Recreational Cheer class on Thursdays from 5-7pm. Athletes in this class will be training alongside Leopards and this team is designed for anyone who doesn't want the commitments or pressures of joining a competitive team but still wants to cheer, or those who would like to cheer competitively but have joined too late in the season to be placed on a comp squad. We are really looking forward to opening up Hellcats even further to the local community and see where this team will go.

Lastly, don't forget that our next compulsory Tumble Clinic is Sunday 16th December at the gymnastics centre in Feltham. This is not required for Cheetahs or rec team. Please note there is a change in practice time due to our Christmas Party! ALL athletes are expected to attend the 9:30-11:30am training session and we will then be holding our Christmas Party from 11:30-1:30pm. Each cheerleader has been asked to bring something yummy to share (no nuts please!) and a gift for their Secret Santa (budget is £5).

Each team has also been assigned a fancy dress theme for the 16th!  Tigers are Elves Panthers are Presents Leopards are The Nativity We can't wait to see what you come up with!

We are really looking forward to the last couple of weeks with all of you and hope to see this term out with a bang! It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

See you at training! Rachel, Laura & Charlie

Important Dates!

FutureCheer Internationals Entry Deadline

The payment deadline for FC Internationals (July) is BEFORE we come back from Christmas break. We require entry fees to be paid by 31st December 2018 to secure our place in the competition.

This has been added to your invoices for next half term which will be emailed out in the next couple of days. Please make sure you pay on or before the deadline as late payment incurs a fine to all team members, not just those that paid late.

Last Orders For Christmas

Our online store is looking fabulous and we are regularly adding new merchandise to it. If you haven't checked it out yet, you should! Click here to see what we have to offer.

Our deadline for orders in time for Christmas is 5pm on Friday 7th December. Any orders placed after this date cannot be guaranteed in time for Christmas.

Please note, this does not apply to our Liberty Training Kit items, the deadline for those has now passed.

Christmas Party Reminder

Christmas is coming and we are super excited about our Christmas Party!

Don't forget your fancy dress theme and your Secret Santa present.

Everyone needs to be at the gym in Feltham on 16th Decemberfrom 9:30am for our monthly Tumble Clinic and then our Christmas Party will be held from 11:30-1:30.

Bring something yummy to share (nut free please!) and your best Christmas cheer.

Introducing Captains!

We spent the first half of this term secretly watching and deciding who we thought were going to be the perfect leaders this season and deserved the Captain bows.

Each of our competition teams, Tigers, Panthers and Leopards have a Captain that was revealed at the start of this month.

We are very proud to call these ladies our Captains for the 2018-19 season and we know they will do an amazing job in the role. Wear your bows with pride girls, you deserve it!

Tigers Captain = Emily R

Panthers Captain = Freya J Panthers Vice-Captain = Sarah F

Leopards Captain = Olivia M
