October Newsletter - ICC, ID Cards and Important Updates (Weybridge Edition)

Hello Hellcats!!

This first half term has been incredible and we are so impressed with the number of athletes that have gained new skills in their tumble sessions over the last 6 weeks. We are barely able to keep up with posting them all!

If the last half term was anything to go by, Christmas will be upon us before we know it! We have some Christmas party plans in the pipeline that we are super excited to reveal to you all - but you're going to have to wait a little longer as we aren't quite ready to spill the secret just yet!

With Christmas creeping up, we wanted to let you know that the deadline for ordering any Hellcats merchandise is midnight on Monday 2nd December to guarantee delivery in time for Christmas.

Our bundles make great gifts for your Hellcat and we are always adding new items to the store (have you spotted our new baseball jerseys yet??). Many of our products can be personalised with your cheerleader's name for no extra charge.

Please also note that our Liberty training kits are bespoke and therefore have a longer lead time than most of our other merchandise options.  For this reason, the final deadline for ordering Liberty kits before Christmas has now passed. We do however have a few extra kits in stock in various sizes so if you would like to place an order please get in touch but once they're gone, they're gone!

All of our teams have been pushing hard to learn new skills and routines in preparation for our first competition in 3 months time!

Speaking of competition, we have some very important news regarding our first competition of the season. Full details can be found at the bottom of this newsletter.

Cubs have been practicing their stunt skills and pyramid over the past few weeks and have been making such amazing progress. It has been inspiring to see such dedication and commitment from our youngest athletes and we believe this team will go far!

We also just want to remind parents of Cubs athletes that they are now confirmed to be competing in February (previously on your team pack this was TBC) but will NOT be competing in Bournemouth at the end of the season. Cubs will be competing twice this season - once in February and once in May.

Tigers have been working on their stunting and tumbling and are doing exceptionally well, especially when you consider that for many of them this is their first experience of cheerleading! It is also so great to see so many of our Tigers taking advantage of our extra tumble classes. Tigers aren't competing until July but we can't wait to see how awesome they will be by then!

Tigers parents - if your cheerleader would like to take extra tumble in addition to their regular training session, please get in touch and we can provide you with all the information and book them onto an open slot!

Panthers have been drilling their pyramid and stunts as well as the first half of their new routine! A huge thank you to all our athletes who came to choreography week in the first week of half term - it feels amazing to have achieved so much of your routine already and we can't wait to see the rest of it and watch you compete it in just a couple of months.

Speaking of routines, Leopards and Jaguars have both completed their full routines!! We have never been in this position before and it is a true testament to the motivation, passion and dedication of the athletes on these two teams, especially since choreography week was during half term! We are so excited to see what the routines look like on the floor in February!

We have really missed our Rec Team and all our stunt groups over the past two weeks and we are really looking forward to getting back into the gym with you all to work on some new skills and ideas.

A huge shoutout to all those who attended our half-term tumble camp last week. We were blown away by the hard work you all put in and the skills that came out as a result! We hope you all had as much fun as we did - keep your eyes peeled for future tumble camps!

We are back to training as normal from Monday 4th November. For all our All-Star teams, please ensure you are at training this week as we need to do uniform fittings, captain reveals and routine re-caps! It's going to be an exciting week!

Don't forget to order your new team bows! These will be needed for our first competition in February and will need to have been ordered before then to ensure delivery in time. These bows are all handmade so they take a bit of time to produce. You can order them on our online store

We can't wait for another half term with our Hellcats pride!

See you at training! Rachel, Laura, Kat, Sarah, Charlie, and Tiff x

Good to know...

Congratulations to Freya, Sarah and Guste who completed their Junior Coaching course this month!

We are so proud to have these three lovely ladies on our coaching staff this season and know they are going to do an amazing job.

Sarah and Freya assist with our school team, Tigers, on a Monday while Guste works with Cubs, our Youth Prep 1 team, on a Wednesday.

They are such great role models for our younger athletes and we are so excited to help them grow as coaches and discover cheerleading from another perspective.

Congratulations, girls!

Our last date for purchasing Hellcats merchandise is Monday 2nd December.

Orders placed before this date are guaranteed in time for Christmas.

Any orders placed after 2nd December cannot be guaranteed.

Our merchandise supplier will be particularly busy in the run up to the holidays so be sure to get your orders in early to avoid missing out!

Need some gift ideas? Check out our online store to see what we have available for your Hellcat this Christmas! Most items can be personalised free of charge!

All of our teams, including Rec, will be performing in our annual Hellcats Showcase and fundraiser.

The showcase will take place on Wednesday 1st July at Heathside School.

All cheerleaders will be required to attend from 4pm for a dress rehearsal before an evening performance at about 6pm. We will let you know more information closer to the time but please keep this date free in your diaries.

Tickets will go on sale after Easter.

Unfortunately, we have recently learned that the ICC Southern Championships competition in February that we planned to enter is already fully subscribed, well ahead of even the early-bird deadline!

They have tried to see if they can fit us in but unfortunately are unable to on this occasion meaning we will not be competing with ICC this season.

This is obviously very frustrating for all of us and unfortunately outside of our control.

Therefore, we will now be competing at BCA Fundamentals in Crawley the weekend before, 1st & 2nd February 2020.

Please put these dates in your diaries and keep it free. As with ICC, we will not know the running order until a couple of weeks before and will let you know the finer details as soon as we are able to.

We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience caused and appreciate your co-operation with these changes.

If you competed with us last season on one of our All-Star or Prep teams or stunt groups and competed at BCA Summer Showdown, you will have been issued a BCA ID Card. These are required by BCA for all athletes to compete.

Please make sure you know where this is as it will be needed for February's competition. If you have lost your card and require a replacement, we will have to order you a new one. BCA charge a £10 fee for each replacement card.

If you have NOT competed with us at a BCA event before, we will be ordering your ID Card for you in the next few weeks. In order to do this, we require a copy of your ID/Proof of Age.

Please send a copy of your passport to Laura (laura@razzledazzle.co) as soon as possible so we can get these ordered.

BCA also require that ID badges be worn on lanyards during the event. These can be any kind of lanyard though we do sell Hellcats Lanyards in our pro-shop and they make perfect stocking fillers!

One of the big differences between ICC and BCA is that BCA require spectators to purchase their own tickets rather than ordering through the team/coaches.

BCA tickets do tend to sell out relatively quickly so we recommend buying early as once they have sold out we are unable to do anything about it. Tickets are also cheaper when purchased online in advance of the event.

The link to purchase tickets can be found here. While we don't yet know the timings the teams will be on, BCA have confirmed that all Level 1&2 cheer teams and stunt groups (Cubs, Panthers, Leopards, Lions and Mountain Lions) will be on Saturday and all Level 3+ teams and stunt groups (Jaguars and Ocelots) will be on Sunday.

Again, we apologise for the inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your co-operation.
